“The truth about our childhood is stored up in our body, and although we can repress it, we can never alter it. Our intellect can be deceived, our feelings manipulated, and conceptions confused, and our body tricked with medication. But someday our body will present its bill, for it is as incorruptible as a child, who, still whole in spirit, will accept no compromises or excuses, and it will not stop tormenting us until we stop evading the truth.”
– Alice Miller
Attracta Fahy is an Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Biodynamic Body Psychotherapist. Attracta is also a Facilitator and Trainer.
She has worked in private practice since 1998.
Originally her experience as a Nurse specializing in Hospice Care, her training and experience in Social Care, but most particularly her own life experience led her to move towards training in a holistic, body-mind-spirit approach which focused on movement and energy within the body-psyche and its expression. Her particular interest was in a psycho-somatic approach to health.
She embraced the Biodynamic model and trained in the Center for Biodynamic and Integrative Psychotherapy (CBIP) Galway, taking further post graduate studies with Gerda Boysen, and other trainers from her Institute including, Heiner Eisenbarth, Ursula Deniflee, Joachim Otto, and Daniel Tanquay.
Attracta later completed her Supervision studies through CBIP, with Claire Doherty Tavistock Center London being accredited in 2006.
She interweaves her work through the natural integration of her varied skill and technique acquired from her learning process to bring the needs, psychically and spiritually, of the client into presence, through making friends with the resistance and with the Heart.
Attracta is particularly interested in working with soul. She believes in the subtleness of soul work within the body mind and how this translates into somatic and psychic tension. Using her skill in trusting the life force of the client she aims to bring this tension to release and expression.
